1 x 3 hour session $849 + optional follow up (see details below)
This workshop revisits the importance of observation, professional discussion and reflective thinking in order to make informed judgments so that teachers are able to better support and extend children’s learning.
The model of Notice, Recognise and Respond will be used as a basis for ensuring that teaching remains focused on improved outcomes for children and teachers will be supported to focus on children’s learning as opposed to just what they are doing.
We will explore the centre’s priorities for learning, the teachers’ role, strategies for observing children’s play and for recognising learning that is occurring. This will be followed by a exploration of intentional teaching might be and how we can provide more authentic learning opportunities for children that support progress along their learning trajectories.
Please note: There is also the option to have a 2 hour follow up ($599) several months after the initial session. This is an opportunity for teachers to share progress to date, to troubleshoot, problem-solve and plan next steps to further strengthen their teaching practice.
