Developing or reviewing a PGC process (including a quality practice template)

Is your PGC process really engaging teachers in professional learning and improvement or do they see it as yet another thing to do just to keep ERO or the Centre Manager happy? If this is the case, your system may need reviewing to ensure that PGCs are a natural and integrated part of teachers’ everyday work.

Are you or your team unclear about what the standards for the teaching profession look like in practice? Or perhaps people in your team have different opinions on what it means to meet the standards. If so, developing a clear and shared understanding of the practice expected in your service would be beneficial. We can help you with that!

Work with a facilitator to develop or review your PGC process, including a Quality Practice Template, and discover ways to make PGCs meaningful and manageable.

Undertaking your PGC

Whether you use goals, inquiries or internal evaluations to drive the PGCs of your team, we can work with you to refine your approach so that you get the best return on time and effort.
One of our facilitators will work with you to strengthen your ability to choose an appropriate focus for your PGC and to identify and collate strong evidence of your learning, changes in practice and the difference you are making for children. The emphasis will be on individualising approaches to enable maximum teacher engagement as well as ensuring processes are not onerous and time-consuming.

If you want to work smarter not harder in your PGCs, this one’s for you.

The professional leaders’ role in PGCs

Designed for head teachers, curriculum leaders, mentors and centre managers, we will work with you to build your capability to lead the learning and improvement of your teaching team as they engage in their PGCs.

The work will depend on your particular needs but is likely to include strategies to identify teachers’ learning needs, effective goal setting, maintaining momentum in an inquiry and evaluating evidence.
