Strengthening in-centre mentoring
Face to face consultation (Auckland) – $180 per hour
Email/phone/Zoom consultation – $100 per hour
This service involves an experienced facilitator, with post-graduate qualifications in mentoring, working to support the on-going development of mentor capability within your service. Mentoring adults is not the same as teaching children and requires a specific set of skills and knowledge.
Research shows that mentors often feel isolated and unsupported in this specialist role and that they benefit from feedback on their mentoring practice, professional learning conversations to support their thinking, and opportunities for collaborative problem-solving and action-planning.
Our facilitator will provide those acting as associate teachers, mentors for provisionally certificated teachers and leaders with the skills and on-going support if required) to effectively lead the learning of other teachers. This support may involve face to face meetings, but often coaching conversations are carried out via Zoom or FaceTime. On-going guidance can be provided at a frequency that suits the individual mentor or group of mentors.
